If you have the knowledge to take it apart and put it back together, that would be a good place to start. If it is it has been on the car for a while, a new kit wouldn't hurt. Make sure you check the float level, check the float to make sure they are not holding fuel inside and sinking rather than floating. And replace the fuel filter.
