1968 SS L023 SS&AFX RESTORATION
"This just in"... An original, 1 of 80 built 1968 Dodge Dart L023 factory 4-speed cars arrived at the shop of SS&AFX for a complete ground up restoration by Greg Fernald a couple of weeks ago. We are in the process of gathering its historical providence and here is what we know about the cars ownership history so far. The car was manufactured during the third production run and purchased through Mr. Norm's. Chronological ownership history, or what we know of it thus far is as follows; Billy Husted campaigned the car under the name "Little Critter", David Heller campaigned the car after him under the name "Gold Seeker" followed by Chris McWhirter, and briefly owned by Fred Englehard. This is what we know so far. If anyone knows of this car, has seen it run in the past, has any knowledge of additional ownership history, campaigning, old pictures, etc... please feel free to contact Greg Fernald at www.ssandafx.com. A picture of the factory VIN is attached as well.
This L023 will be restored to 100% original specifications as it left the Hurst factory with the exception of a paint scheme to be determined by the current owner. Attached are a few pictures which show its condition of arrival and some of the progress already underway. Greg has just began to work on the car and started with some basic disassembly which will be completed shortly along with replacement of the trunk pan.
