65 Barracuda daily driver
So, I finally replaced the steel super 6 intake manifold with an aluminum one, that was on the the engine before, filled a small tear in the exhaust pipe by the flange with BlueMagic QuikSteel High Temperature Metal Repair and most importantly replaced the FelPro gasket with a Remflex gasket. The QuikSteel needs 4 hours to cure, so I couldn't start it up right away, but... Damn, it feels like a brand new car. Not only am I not suffocating anymore from the various exhaust leaks, it runs so much better and feels more powerful and the engine is super quiet now. Maybe time for a nice Magnaflow muffler... The steel intake manifold or more likely the gasket was leaking as well (you could smell the gas...), so I believe now more gas actually makes it into the combustion chambers. If you've ever had exhaust leak issues, Remflex is the way to go. It works so well, even though I broke off the last bolt on the right a while ago and was never able to get it out. Unbelievable... For a long time I've been thinking about putting a V8 back into the car (originally a V8 car, had the slant when I bought it), but after today I think I changed my mind. So happy... I don't have many photos, because my hands were greasy and I didn't want to touch my phone more than necessary, but here's a couple of the cheapo exhaust repair. Not pretty, but my engine compartment is not much to look at anyways
