Zombies 72' Dodge Demon

-
383 Wedge,a sleeper..If you ignore ,most internet lore..... Hello,Holy Diver....

I have a 440 in my Dart already an it's going to be my main drag setup at some point in life. I'm talking big tire low 8s kinda deal. An I've always had a thing for the 383s. Picked up 2 of them for free an feel that a 500hp 383 would be a fun little DD/ weekend fighter car
I have thought about sticking a 440 crank in it too so who knows. It's a clean slate Sonim up for ideas at this point

318+30 over
Xheads home port work
Eddy air gap
Custom Comp cam
Milodon gear drive
Blah blah blah
I know this motor runs pulled after a few test hits a few years back so for the time being it's going in the Demon so I can at least play with the car. I'll build the 383 up an swap it in at some point. Have both small block an big block mounts already so I save time by doing the small block first

Sounds like a pretty sweet setup for a 318. I've never run a gear drive. Are you a firm believer in them?

For a street setup they are just fine in my eyes. It's a fixed gear setup unlike the "chevy" floating style. It sounds amazing, lots of guys say they mess things up in the valve train but I've never had an issue. If it was a 1,000hp motor then maybe but for a street beater it'll do just fine. My 2cents

Who cares,it's sweet mill. Get it ,runnun'..?

Over the weekend I pulled part the 383 down to the bare block an packed it away under the bench until the time comes to build it up
I then pulled the small block out an tore the top end apart just to check things out, ordered new gaskets an od an ends. Next is a scrub an a paint job

- Looks pretty sweet even without the re-paint.
