Stop in for a cup of coffee

I have a pile of those shims - little U-shaped things squared in the outside corners, of varying thickness from about 3/16 down. They don't go in the hood latches. They go in the fenders, can go on just about any bolt that meeds 'em but generally turn up on the big ones in the top and back. If ya' didn't have any ya' could probly use 5/16 washers.
I used to think those shims were a GM thing only because I have seen GM cars built with ton of those and I never saw them on anything Chrysler. Then one day I was taking a low miles original valiant apart and there were ships like that on the rear fender stud, the one that you can only get the nut off with the door open.

So that makes me think Chrysler may have used shims although to date, that is the Chrysler I have ever had with them. they were not chrome, instead painted black.
