The 8 1/4 thread

Thanks to Halifax for the direction to come look at this thread. I have read the first page and then some. I just want to make sure I understand my rear axle. Here are the pics. I was told it came out of a 74. I did not count teeth but the pinion made 2.75 or so rotations for every one rotation of the ring.

Is this the offset rear end? That will help me get going.
