8 3/4 gear setup for beginner?

If I have one together do a few things before disassembly.

Run a pattern at 4 spots, this can show condition of gear set for use later and pictures if sold.

Check backlash.

Remove ring gear and refit to check runout.

Punch mark your left and right caps so they go back in the same way.

Don't rush and do it when you won't be disturbed by anyone. Maybe some pleasant music if it helps you concentrate.
