There's some stuff on Load (and ReLoad) that gets big love in my Metallica rotation! Until it sleeps, King nothing, Hero of the Day and Bleeding Me, Fuel, Memory Remains, Unforgiven II (especially Unf II!!!) are my "gotta have it" songs from the two albums.

Metallica???? I can't find them on Napester. I believe I will just put on some Jethro Tull.

Metallica ain't even a werd.

or

Metal Licker? what kind of a band is that?

I was ready ,to post Iron Maiden, on a differing post. How ironic.

If you do, I'd be swarming that post. Big Maiden Fan. I have a Fear Of The Dark shirt that is part of my "Concert Attire" that I wear to Rock Concerts (along with a Denim Jacket which has been signed by the members of LA Guns, and Brad Gillis of Night Ranger. I never pass up a chance to get signatures on it)

I also have an Iron Maiden guitar strap on my 50th Anniversary Fender Stratocaster, and a Megadeth strap on my Schecter VR-1 Flying V.

And I agree with the others, Megadeth rules. :D

I'd say Ride the Lightning is one of my favorite Metallic albums.

My favorite is Metallica and Ray Charles entitled "The Blind Leading The Blind"

British Steel, Kill 'Em All, and Ride The Lightning, taught me how to play guitar, and valuable lessons about song structure.

Some times I would play along with one, two, or ll three, for six hours or more straight.

It took me a hell of a long time to finally reply to this thread. I grew up with all of these albums ringinging in my ears, and I love all these albums, but after a LONG deliberation, I finally chose RIDE THE LIGHTENING.... Fade to black is the anthem of my life and that of my generation. This is a great, if not epic question.... Thanks for the time it took to reflect on the times of my life which finally brought me to my final decision!!!

Metallica... Metal up your ***!!

NOW you got me.. this is the ****!!!!!! ALL 4 were GREAT, isn't ONE better then the other..........

I to this day still love the band, even tho they have gone a ways around the old Speed Metal days.... HOWEVER the newest Album, that's out (a few years old) is headed back to their roots! Then one they're working on, is going to be even closer to the old days!

BUT, won't ever be 100%.......... RIP Cliff Burton!

Question for ALL?

Who WERE the 4 ORIGINAL band members of MetallicA?

These are all the ones that, IMO... S-U-C-K.

The NEW one on the other hand - Hardwired, sounds VERY AJFA with a touch of "Master..." and even Whiplash.

Good for them.

...and who decided the first "radio" single should have "F" bomb and "S" in a 1-2 punch position.

Now THAT"S "my" Metallica!

Cliff, Lars, James, .... can't remember the 4th !

Just saw Megadeth a moth or so ago with two of my suns on the Norfolk Navy base, military concert series, Ok master of puppets was the first song from them i ever heard, then backtracked to ride the lightning and kill them all, I would have to go with Ride the Lighting.

Also ironic is that I actually wrote a song, also using portions of the bedtime prayer, well before the release of "Sandman".....
My Aunt wrote a screenplay that later became "Salvage One" Salvage 1 (TV Series 1979– ) - IMDb as a writing assignment in her screenplay class at UCLA. The Prof who taught the class stole it and sold the script to Mike Ross who ran with it and made a lousy TV series out of it. I liked "Kill 'em all" , the only one I owned.

Ah **** I can't hold off any more...... Lars, Ulrich, James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine Ron McGovney are THEE "original" band member of MetallicA!!!

C'mon, not one mention of Slayer in the meandering?

I'm not afraid to dig the Load and ReLoad, Garage Inc was real good too, Death Magnetic was a nice return to earlier form, I'll give the new album a listen when it drops!

New song anyone? :icon_fU:

-Heard "Hard Wired" on the radio sounds good to me!!!!!!

Well no one said anything about Slayer, BUT what about MetallicA's Inspirational band? Motorhead!!!???? RIP Lemmy Kilminster...... Ace of Spades!
