What is the difference between P4500268-69 and P4120863-64 Mopar Performance Leaf spring? Both are listed at 2800 pounds.

My car is a 1971 372 Duster. i want the rear end to be a bit higher than stock, maybe an inch or so.

the P4500268 is listed as the stock Heavy duty replacement, the P4120863 is listed as a super stock spring.
the super stocks will be much higher. even the oe might be an 1" higher than what you have if they are old & worn out.
hope that help ya out.

The 268 is listed as XHD OE equipment (XHD = extra heavy duty)

The 864 is listed under racing springs, Super Stock springs.

I can not comment on actual ride height between the two or exactly how the compare with each other. Normally, the S/S springs ride high.

I do believe the OE XHD Springs are they ones your looking for with a slight over bend for a nice rake.

I went to ESPO.com for my springs and order the 6 leaf @ a 1 inch over bend.

The XHD spring are almost double of the SS spring.... Wonder why? Will go with ESPO.

Thanks

Good question! I will guess it has to do with ride quality and/or the amount produced.

The ESPO springs were pricey at the total. (AKA shipping included price.)
But IMO, well worth it in the end.

Summit prices XHD springs

B body 109.97$
E body 108.97$¸
A body 199.97$

SS spring 112.97$

Go figure...

A-body springs do seem to be higher. I got mine from mopar performance catalog some 4 or 5 years ago for 225 the pair of XHD springs. So they will be pricey.

Alain isn't there a spring place your way? If so they could custom build a set for you and if not I would go with a set of HD OEM springs(5 plies rather than 4) but from a place where you can specify the arc you want as in the choice of 1'' over stock 2''over stock...I have seen such a place when I was hunting for springs but I forget where it is. just search ''Mopar leaf springs''

Mancini XHD Abody springs 235 a pair.

After reading a lot of thread here, i went with ESPO springs.
Just installed the P4120863-64 on my Valiant last night. Corrected body roll and wheel hop and ride. Right side is only 3/4" higher than the left. For the money, I think I will be very happy with these springs.
