'68 barracuda rebuild original disc brakes or get high performance kit

hello all,

I am just starting to dig into my original brake system that needs a full rebuild of the system. This is a 1968 Plymouth barracuda 318 2bbl automatic transmission 8 3/4 rear end.

Car has front power disc brakes and rear drums. Currently the brake lines are not hooked up in the rear the previous owner did not finish the 8 3/4 swap.

My questions:

Should I just rebuild the entire system back to original or should I consider buying an upgraded high performance system like wilwood?

I am going to try and use this car as a semi frequent driver car. Not a drag car not a street pro car but I do want reliability and safety out of this car as much as I can while respecting the originality.

I believe currently I will have to replace all of the brake lines and master cylinder by the look of them. They are in need of a compete rebuild at least if not replacement.

If you want great brakes that won't break the bank and will be upgrading to the larger bolt pattern with the 8 3/4", call Dr Diff and run the 11 3/4" Police Taxi rotors up front with his rear Econo-kit that includes 2006 Mustang Cobra R disc's and calipers with the emergency brakes built in.

Might as well replace the master cylinder, all the hard lines, distribution block and upgrade the hoses with 3 braided hoses.

I have this set-up on both my A-Body and E-Body and can vouch for them for speeds up to 140+. They also have factory rubber dust/water seals on the calipers that the Wilwood's don't have. The set-up is balanced amazingly well, and parts are available almost anywhere on the shelf. I do currently run Firm Feel's front pads though.
