Rest in peace Gene.
Just passed away at age of 83
Blazing Saddles and willie wonka were priceless and still bring a smile to my face today.

I heard this on the radio on the way home. Sad news indeed.

I had read on some websites that he pretty much disappeared from movies without much of an explanation. Today was the first time I heard he had Alzheimer's.

Dang Man. That just Sux. He has been the source of many belly laughs for me over the years. His comedic abilities will be greatly missed.

Pat

Classic clip.
Peter Boyle who played the father in everybody loves raymond was cast as the frankenstein monster along with wilder in young frankenstein.

His nephew released a statement saying that he didn't want anyone to know about his diagnosis. He apparently couldn't stand for there to be one less smile in the world.

He was a real class act, and there are few left like him in Hollywood. RIP Mr. Wonka. Enjoy your ride in the Great Glass Elevator!

He was an Icon. What a team with Mel Brooks. Most of his work they wouldn't produce today!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep spent many a night watching his movies with Dad.
He was great with Marty Feldman in Legend of Beau Geste

I speak from first had experience. I know what it is like watching my Dad And my mother waste away from the affects of Alzheimer's. And I understand why his nephew wanted to honor his uncle and shield the public from viewing the decline of the person we came to know and love. RIP young Frankenstein!

Sad to hear.......
I always thought he was a comedic genius.
R.I.P. Mr. Wilder.

Yesterday morning on NBCs Today Show, Matt Lauer referred to "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory". Wrong movie/actor Matt.
RIP Gene Wilder.
