steering wheel repair

I've been looking at utune videos on repairing cracks in the steering wheel. Have any of you had any success doing this. I have 5 mostly small ones and one that is maybe an 1/8 inch all of the way around.
I am thinking about trying the jb weld putty, simple because I have some.

Jb weld seemed to work for me. but in the hot Florida sun(took 3 months to do it though). It chipped in some of the thin spots since it didn't seem to bond as well even with adhesion promoter (bulldog). I ended up using PC-7 and redoing a really messed up wheel. it came out so much better that I'm doing 3 others that are not messed up as bad.

some of the oops's I have to fix. yeah I bead blasted it first and then used bulldog adhesion promoter in this area

here it is fixed by hand (it sucked). I saw on this site someone did a JIG to make the grips, sure wish I had thought of that.

this wheel has been in the summer sun and in the car for about 2 years now with no cracks or checking.
