In fact, I just came back from a short trip to our auto parts store looking for crimp terminals. No luck, though. They ones they had were much too big. I'll be ordering some online now.
Some did come off, though:
I interrupted my trial run the same evening, I didn't want to leave it running over night. Haven't started it up again, it's a hassle to set it up with the jumper cables and the crappy wiring. I wanted to set it up properly first.
