Need motor mounts and trans mount for new engine

While not cheap, aftermarket spool engine mounts with the polyurethane inserts are a good option to any solid mounts. They are much more durable and harder/stiffer than OEM rubber, but still absorb much of the vibrations you would get with solids. The spool versions can't pull apart like the older mounts unless you spend extra money anyway for the special ones. They make poly inserts for the trans mount as well. Schumacher and Mancini have them.

It's cheaper, but buying the engine spool mount inserts and cutting out the OEM rubber isn't worth the trouble IMO.

The solids won't pull apart either. I use the urethane spool mounts but I detest them. The earlier type OD mount is fool proof and you can use a solid mount. The car will handle better and they never wear out.

Th spool mount is WORTHLESS and unless you are losing sleep over a numbers matching deal, I'd sell the spool mount to some Spode, or better yet trade it for the earlier flat mount and be done with it.

The reality is, it was cheaper to make and install the spool mount and that's why Chrysler switched. It's not better. Once you buy solid mounts, you NEVER have to worry about a failure.
