1972 Demon Build

-
First I cleaned the snot out of it, degreaser, and since I was not sticking to stock colors, lacquer thinner to stubborn spots. Blew it dry and then looked for scratches I could sand smooth. I did not need any filler, there were no deep scratches.

Paints were rust o leum paints for plastic. Just taped off and took my time. I can't tell you how many hours I have in it.
Thanks bud, I might tackle this project thus winter for my demon. I pulled my grill off my Dart an painted all gloss black back in high school so it's time for a change I think back to stock

Well mine is anything but stock. I didn't do my 72 Swinger stock either. One of these days I will redo my 74...

Okey dokey. Car is all but back together on the inside. Block, heads, crank, rods, and Pistons all off the the machine shop for work. When you get lemons, make lemonade. The supposed 400 was a clean 383.....so a 496 stroker it is.

The interior is on its finishing stages. My wife had the guy shoot some pics so I could see. I am so happy with her design from what I got so far. She matched colors, she decided on the stitching. She decided where the colors should go. Seat belts are custom matched and being made as we speak. I can't wait!!

Nope...that is just to get it from point a to point b. It is a nice wheel with no issues. I haven't decided if I want to dye it white or go with an aftermarket wood grain unit.

Have you considered dyeing it Red to contrast with the white dash and column, with a white leather sport stitch cover on the rim, just a thought.

I like the Wood Grain wheel the best...Plus you can always keep that one and do what ever you want with it...my VOTE Wood Grain

Like that wheel also...but me I like the wood grain...but then again looking back you got rid of the wood grain on the dash so....I still like the wood grain wheel my 2cents

Just found this thread. Nice Demon! I think the white rim Grant would look awesome in that car. Really pairs well with the red interior.

The more I look at that white wheel it sure does look good and I can see it and it does look sexy there.

And the assholes of planet Earth haunt me once again. Who the hell shows up to see a truck makes an offer, then can't come up with the cash? Must be related to the dickhead that just bid on my truck and now can't come up with the money. Lol....planet full of clowns. I guess I'll be building a truck after all. I mean what the hell....got everything there to do it.

Engine block back from the machine shop. Window glass install set for the 29th. Heads off for big valves, new springs, porting and a bit of work on head volume. I knew I would have a bit of work to do to get the compression ratio down as these are the high compression -4cc Pistons from 440 source for the 496. Price was right...we'll see as it goes.

Lol. I told her it would have been cool to take one of the cars to a place like that and get some pics. She volunteers with a group called Heels for Combat Boots. They raise money for service members with PTSD.
