Thermoquad - Lokar kickdown

Sorry for all those awaiting these shots. (Gerty) I have been snowed under so to speak.

These pictures apply to all the OE Carter carbs except a WCFB. I have not had the pleasure of seeing one close enough to know yet.
You will need snips to cut a
Aluminum sheet or mild steel
A drill and bits
2, bolts, nuts, washers.

First up is an OE small AVS on top of that old 318 Duster on the cheap thread I did years back. Lokar cables for throttle and trans. The OE carb doesn't have a provision for the kick down cable so you have to make your own adapter. E-Z, P-Z! This adapter was aluminum (.060 thick or so) I think though a mild steel plate would do just as fine. A small sheet can be picked up at the local hardware store, like ACE or similar. The hardware (nuts, bolts, washers) are a parts bin find in my garage thopugh I'm sure a hardware store like ACE would have something for you. Just measure with a mic or fit a drill bit into the carb's throttle lever for a approximate size need for the bolts to be used. 1 large and 1 small to attach the plate to the carbs throttle arm. The bottom hole is for the cable for the trans kick down. Approximate it's placement with the Edelbrock adapter. Which will not attach to the OE carb.

The same trick applies to the TQ. Though I can not find a finished picture, you can at least see that I'm just about done with this one. Just a quick drilling to make the hole for the Lokar cable stud. And I'm done.
Note the extra 4th hole onthe red adapter on the AVS. That would or could be for a OE return spring.
Note that the throttle stud is in place on the TQ.
