Building 440 for the street. 452 or 906 heads, 10.1 compression mild to loopy cam. 727 trans 2800 stall converter
Would a mopar M1 intake work on the street?

Honestly with your combo a rpm performer dual plane intake will work better. Single planes are a more race application intake.

3.91 gears will help the single plane intake for street driver. the torque a 440 makes also helps! it is a matter of preference. i drive a holley strip dominator on the street with a modified thermoquad & it is sweet on the street!!:steering:

From what i have read.. the M1 is a Mopar copy of the street dominator.

Oh yes! That M1 DP is cast by Edelbrock made for MoPar. It is going back to the old days again. MoPar isn't investing in there research to make a better part anymore. They realize the excellent intake the rpm is and simply had Edelbrock cast it with there logo on it.

When Chrysler first came up with Direct Connection they would sell Edelbrock and others parts.

Certain intakes are updated over the prior selling intakes, like the Holley Strip Dom that MP copied and arguably improved.

Some of the newest RB intakes are not of that copied design. They are a little different on the outside. Inside? IDK.

If you already have it try it.
440 makes a lot of torque might help street tires hook up. If looking to buy a manifold I'd probably go straight to the rpm intake.
