6.1 Hemi 69 Barracuda Fastback Father Son Project

Just measured the 8-3/4 rear that came out of the 69 Fastback
54.25" flange to flange and 44" perch to perch center to center.
Yup, 65-67 B body 8-3/4. At first I was bummed but now I'm Happy.
Pros and cons of using a B-body rear axle assembly???
Think it will work just fine with the 17"x9" -5" BS YO Rallye wheels and the Doctor Diff Spring relocate kit.
275/40-17s should fit just fine. The fronts, not sure what will fit but I can test fit the 17x8, 245/45-17 fronts from the rag top.
72BluNblu seems to have the answers to most of my questions if I dig enough. :)

An accurate 8 3/4" rear axle width list

Cons, it is wider. May need to move the perches. Need to run deeper offset.

Pros, it is wider. If you want to run "square" AKA same tire and wheel front and rear it is easier to do with the B-body axle.

If you need a specific width that is different than A body and have to narrow the axle it does not matter as much what you start with, as long as it is wider. Then buy custom axles. I ordered my 8-3/4 housing the exact width I wanted from Dr Diff.
