anyone ever used a Dakota/Durango Air Box espec. carb/throttle plenum

hi folks, just thinking of going back to a hood without a hood scoop on my 65 Barracuda... while looking for opinions i came across this old thread

[WANTED] - Air cleaner assembly from a Dakota

the guy used a air cleaner assembly from a Dakota or Durango - guess 1997 up models.

Anybody here who done something like this in the past ?

main problem over here in Germany is to find those parts. no chance to find parts like this on a junkyard like in the states.

so i looked for a "Carb/Throttle body - plenum" on ebay and found these Cold-Air-Kits which include this "plenum"
1997-1999 Dodge Dakota 98-03 Durango Cold Air Intake+Aluminum Pipe+Filter Red | eBay
but when i just dig deeper i found out that the opening is 5 1/2" is this true for these Dakota/Durango thing - as a 4 bbl carb would have 5 1/8" afaik

i know there are these so called "carb hats" from Spectere etc, which are mostly used for Superchargers/Turbos etc.... but i´m not willing to spend that much money.

any ideas about this stuff ?
