This is an idea. What do you think.
It's a old ligth and planning to mod a new one.
Regards ....

I liked te first pic of the car. I could see the side markers in that pic. For fun was trying to imagine round '68 sidemarkers recessed or even '68 square Imperial markers.

From your first picture, I was going to ask where you were located because it looked like it was outside the US. Now I see you added your location. Beautiful city. I was in Caracas many years ago.

No need to imagine, I have '68 side markers on my Duster/demon clone. If you're replacing the 72+ plastic sidemarkers it does still require a small amount of welding because the holes for those side markers are slightly larger than the '68 markers, the '68 markers don't completely cover the hole.

I put sick on reflectors over the original marker holes and got rid of the lights all together.

I really like the idea, but you should have welded up the rectangular parking light hole, got some 68 Dart Side Marker Lights and mounted to the body line, as they did on the Darts. Would have been Cooler looking at the body line.

First, I did weld up the sizeable marker holes for the original recessed side markers because those are '71 Dart fenders on my car. And second, I'm well aware of the location of the original '68 Dart sidemarkers. I also don't like them there, which is why I put mine where I did. You can put yours wherever you like, I sourced the "flat" '68 markers specifically to put them where I wanted them. It's a '74 duster with '71 demon bodywork and '68 markers, what's stock is of no concern to me.

I love the '68 style markers, as well as the placement, on your car. I've kicked that idea around too. Lots of plans, but I'm still waitin' for the money truck to show up.

The 68 marker lights is what I'm planning on doing to my 72 dart. The marker lights stock look like hideous goiters, massive fail!

I thought about just deleting them, I want the marker lights, so, I'll just change and relocate possible.

I'd like to see a side shot of the rears on the duster please. The 68 lights are so much cleaner!

I'll post one as soon as I install them. :D Right now I'm still rocking the plastic '74 markers. I did the front's when I did the bodywork on the front end, I kinda went back and forth about where I was going to put them in the back so I haven't done it yet. It's easier to put them where the holes for the plastic markers are because that will require less welding and the '68 sidemarkers will cover some of the work, but I'm almost positive at this point that I'm putting them somewhere else.

i replaced the 1972 B body generic style side markers that stick out with the flush mounted 1971 B body style by fabricating a stainless steel template to match the 1971 style opening, enlarging the 1972 hole to fit, and using panel adhesive to attach the template permanently. See foto below and/or see "Project Odyssey" on FABO for more details.
