727 shift kit?

I have my 727 out right now and was going to adjust the bands. Got to thinking I should maybe install a transgo tf2 right away. Tranny seems to shift good already though, is there any way of telling if it already had some type of shift kit installed at some point?

Also do they sell new shift shafts? Mine always leaks through the case seal. I see it has exsesive play in the valve body support.
