Hard to believe people can find something to ***** about with a 700+hp street legal car. Got to love the internet
Right? And a warranty. These same people probably have a damn Prius sitting in the garage, and voted for Hillary LOL

Look here **** stick. You obviously are very passionate about these new Fiats, and every ******* time one of these threads is started about them, you have to open up that fat ugly *** mouth of yours. What is this "REAL" car that you speak of? My Challenger would hand that pile of **** Duster of yours it's ***, guaranteed.

BLAH BLAH BLAHBLAH BLAH..dream on :icon_fU::icon_fU::icon_fU:

Nobodys bitching about the 700 horses, i just dont think its appropriate to attach the demons name to the challenger. If they didnt tweak the appearance and actually make it somewhat resemble a demon id be disappointed.

Whats going to separate it from a hell cat? 75 more hp and a damn badge on the side? They need to delete the twin headlight in the front and run singles with a standard marker light and swap the tailights out for slotted style tailights then it would be worthy to share the demon name, dont just tweak the engine for more power, slap a badge on it and call it a demon

I'll admit, it bothered me some when they came out with the new Charger. Why? Because it was a 4 door. They should have called it a Coronet. :D

I agree with ya. From what I have been told, the Demon will have almost 200 horsepower more than the Hellcat, and will also be all wheel drive. Very similar system as what the Jeep Trackhawk is going to be equipped with. The problem that SRT has been fighting are the drive shafts. It sounds like tho, they have fixed that issue and are doing the final testing before the vehicles actually go in to production. They're talking sub 3 second 0 to 60 times, and high 9 second quarter mile Et's with the Demon. Something like this is absolutely unheard of, and we should all be a little bit thankful to FCA for having the balls to build these nasty machines. These high horsepower, piston driven cars will again be a thing of the past soon, and we should embrace what has been given. Amen, lol

Sub 3 sec 0-60? Hell the little 350 hp awd focus rs is pretty close to that.

I think they are going to put themselves in a rough spot, so the hellcat has 700 which is untamable for the street especially with trac control off, can you imagine 900? Nowhere to put all them horses down safely but at a track. So whats this new one gonna cost? 80k? Could build a drag car for way less. I guess if you want a 900 horse daily driver thats cool but jeez is it really practical? Lol

Noooo way those cars are legally passing emissions

Wonder how many guys said pretty much the same thing about a Hemi powered anything back in 60's and 70's and didn't buy one. Everything that's old is new again

YUP!
2017 Model comes with:
8.4-Liter V10 SFI Engine
The all-aluminum 8.4L V10 engine teamed with the TREMEC six-speed manual transmission, delivers 645 horsepower, 600 lb-ft of torque, 0-60 mph in the low 3-second range[1] and a top track speed of 206 mph[1].

2016 was the last year for the Viper. The 2017 model cars have been in production for a few months now so they're no longer making 2016 models
Then how come this 2017 Viper??
I looked at the website and there are 5 models of 2017 Viper I can order...

Oops. Had my year wrong, they're ending production after the 2017 model. Possibly has something to do with the Demon

Dodge Viper production to end after 2017

I am just sad that the "Dart" they came out with is not body styled after the Dart of yesteryear. It is just a compact in similarity. The new Challenger is reminiscent of the old...

I can just see a modern SRT Dart Hellcat rollin' by with real Dart looks... sigh...
Yea they should've named the dart a neon. But I guess the dart was an economy car back then too but these days that means it's likely gonna be ugly due to how the make them for aerodynamics.

What amazes me is how few of the 5 editions of vipers they'll be making! You can still order a fully custom 1 of 1 viper and will probably make as many of those as they can get orders for.

If that's a door in the back it's pretty small. Either way, looks much better than what they ended up with.

The Hellcat is a good deal if you want 3 cars in one; daily driver, road race, and high 9 sec drag car.
No trailer or pickup required to haul to the track, and it only takes up one spot in the garage. Throw in the warranty and how can you go wrong.
I'm not buying one since I'm happy and have fun with the 2 A's I drive. I'd rather see a hellcat in the other lane than another Mustang, Camaro, Vette, Civic, etc.
That's right Mike. I can't believe all the anger and name calling. We all like the old cars, obviously, that's why we're here. Car companies can't afford to be nostalgic like us though. They have to try and market things with profit in mind, and other than the Dart, I think we Mopar fans have been pretty lucky lately with the Charger, Challenger, and their SRT and Hellcat versions. I too wish the Dart had been something different, and would've preferred new names and leaving the old names to R.I.P., but it's a marketing thing and we have to accept that. People are getting all bent out of shape calling each other names like ten year olds, posting pictures of a ten year old concept car and calling it a Fiat, and the next Demon, when FCA didn't even own Chrysler then. To the ones who are poo-pooing all over the Challenger based demon (not a Fiat based), is it just the name, or the car? Would it be ok if it was called something else, or still a POS? I know, I know, you're dad can beat up my dad.

Trust me, I wish I could buy them new like in '72, but.......
Cars of yesteryear would have a hard time competing with today's cars in high mileage, power, MPG, handling, crash test, and rusting out.
Fact is, they wouldn't compete at all. Hear me right, I'm an old car fanatic. But I'm also a realist.
Just a base 2016 Challenger with a V6 would give the majority of yesteryear Muscle cars fits in a 1/4 mile or top end. I'm talking automatic 340 Dusters, 383 Roadrunners, along with many brand X muscle cars. Motor Trend recorded a 14.50 1/4 mile time with a 2015 V6 Challenger. Others as slow as 14.80's. Now what if we compared it to a base '72 318 satellite? Or make the new Chally a R/T? Need I say more?
Now consider cold winter starts, gas mileage, crash test, options, cruising all day at 80 mph on the interstate, and which one without being touched will most likely be running like a champ with only oil changes at 150,*** miles? Hands down, it's the new Challenger.
-----------------------agree with this!!! I wonder which one would be the best to drive to okc and back, my probable 675-700 , 68 barracuda, or a new 707 horse challenger ?? I know which one I`d take !
