this just makes no sense to me:

"Also, testimony from the three survivors of the shooting who were in the car with de Abreu and Furtado will be limited, and they will not be allowed to identify Hernandez as the shooter."

Why are witnesses NOT allowed to id the suspect?!
You would probably need to study the case to fully understand, but I suspect it's because they didn't actually witness him shooting. Their testimony was heard by the Judge in the pre-trial hearing so there must be a good legal reason under the law as to why it is being prohibited during the trial.
