The VIN (BH23F8Bxxxxxx)comes back as1968. Apparently it has a '67 snout and trunk on it. The Pink Slip references the 1968 VIN, but lists the car as a ‘67. According to DMV, this is something that can be rectified when Title is transferred.

My daughter and her boyfriend brought this car home in 2002 (I think). Their purpose was to build a street rod. They did some work on it, but soon split up. I started working on it (with occasional help from my daughter) on the weekends. My intention was to partially tear it down to make sure all the running gear was intact and functional – then, do a full tear down to do body and paint work. We got to the point where it is drivable, but still needs body, paint and trim work. I have not done any work on the car for the last 10 years. Most of the trim, emblems, door panels, rear window panels and the center counsel are available.

Below is a description of the various components of the car, their condition and what’s been done to the car.

Engine: 360 LA Small block with 915 “J” heads with unleaded seats. 10/10 crankshaft and .30 over cylinders. Internally balanced, H116CP pistons, Eagle rods. Schneider 132-F cam (.480 lift, 264 duration). This is a solid cam. Switching to a hydraulic cam will require replacing the lifters, pushrods and perhaps the rocker arms, which are Comp Cam roller rockers. Engine probably should be refreshed with new gaskets and seals. The drivetrain has very low mileage as the car has rarely been driven except for an occasional trip around the block.

Edelbrock 2176 intake manifold and 750 cfm carburetor. Mopar electronic ignition.

Exhaust: Tubing Technologies chrome headers with 2.5 inch exhaust.

Transmission: Rebuilt 727 with 2500 rpm stall converter.

Differential: 8 ¾ housing with 742 posi-traction drop out. 3.23:1. There are some small leaks and it needs gaskets and seals.

Moser axles with Green axle bearings.

Front suspension: New tie rod ends and idler arm. Rebuild power steering gear. Energy Suspension control arm bushings. Ball joints not replaced.

Brakes: Front disk brakes from 1973 Dart. 10” drums in the rear.

Wheels: Police wheels front and back with wide (4.5”) bolt pattern. New, but 10 year old tires, 205/60-15 front, 225/60-15 rear.

New radiator with electric fan. Needs a fan shroud.

New gas tank and fuel level sender.

Had vinyl roof from factory.

Turn signals, emergency blinkers, heater, speedo and gauges work with the exception of the fuel gauge which is reluctant to show more than half a tank.

Have the components for the air conditioner, however installation will require switching to an early style timing chain cover with timing marks on fuel pump side.

The body has some dents and minor rust, and will require body work. It has been sand blasted and covered with rattle can primer.

Seats have been reupholstered, but seat springs were not painted and show some rust.

Car was original with bucket seats and center counsel. The counsel, along with available bright work, trim and panels will come with the car. According to the VIN, the original engine was a 318 2bbl. The original transmission was probably a 909 and the original rear end was a 7.25"
