Oil filter block plate

I've only ever used the large circular gasket between the plate the block. I've never used a little one on the plates.

I didn't use the little one either. Didn't see a need AND seems to me like it could cause a sealing issue with the outer main gasket. I wanted the filter adapter to pull the plate in nice and tight to the block.
