Amazing what a couple days away from that engine does....
I had some MP solid lifter cams in boxes...as we all know they have no PN on them. I knew there was a couple of the oval cams, a 528 @ 106 and a 571 lift and one was marked 557. I decided to slide them into this engine and find what was what. Yes, now i got the 528, 571 cams tagged, but the 557 was a 590.
And then I slide a 557 cam into the engine, was going to use it instead of the Lunati, after two tries I had it degreed....What I figured out was went I used the Advance 4 degrees on the crank sprocket was I getting 10 degrees of cam timing change...Going straight up I was at 110....and now applying that knowledge to the Lunati I put a 2 degree cam keyway in it and I hit 108, ok...switch out keyway to 4 degree on camshaft...Bingo...105.5....looking for 106....
Had to BUY head gaskets....they are here...So heads and timing chain cover can go on...
