Is it possible to run 17x8 w/ fenderwells

Yes I currently have fenderwells, but not installed (haven't swapped the motor yet). Hmmm I've seen a post or two of folks saying they've ran a 17x8 with a 235/45 but haven't seen what they've done to get there, or if it's total bs.
