Idea for a TRUE Slant Six Challenge class

"It would almost be difficult to spend money on a car like this" and with that you completey lost me.
With this stock every thing approach,, just taking 904 trannys as an example,,exactly who will be the transmission guru that will be reviewing the 904's: valve bodies, clutch packs and drive hubs to verify that the tranny components are 'stock', that is without even mentioning torque converters, as I would expect that at some point in time someone will put 9 inch TQ vanes inside a 'stock' appearing TQ,, All of this tear down inspection cost is on top of all the tear down effort and and time,,,who pays for that?
Put a low claimer fee on the drive train and you end up with junk on the track that no track promoter will want.

, all of that is avoided with bracket racing. Build the slant six car of your dreams.
Know the car, Know yourself, figure out the track, project an ET and let it rip.
A 12 second slant car against an 18 second slant car is actually great racing. The driver with the knowledge of his car and track wins, it is that simple.

a great place to do bracket racing is with the Slant Six.org racing group ,, there is an East Coast and a West Coast and a developing Mid country section group. Run what you brung, few rules, great folks,

again, I don't want to rain on your parade,, but if you want to race an absolutely stock 1 bbl slant six car, there is a way to do that today,,, know your car and you can be very successful.
