W2 heads on a 318

This is the classic example of an engine with way more cam timing that it needed. I run less seat to seat, more at .050 (but not by much) on Pcar heads and that is to shift at 6800-7000. In fact that cam has 15 degrees more seat timing and 3 degrees LESS at .050 than the cam I run. Just too much timing.

Could have been 20 degrees less seat timing and the W-2 engine would kill the Pcar headed deal.
I think you just said I picked the wrong camshaft and I'd agree. When I put the engine together there wasn't Internet or a great site like this to help a young guy out. The cam did deliver a very aggressive sound. Isn't that what's really important, lol
