383 into 67 Barracuda stock - input stock exhaust manifolds (69) vs Schumacker headers

Very good points.

You can see why this is not as easy of decision as it appears. Everybody like more HP, But if the HP units are fairly good, they certainly seem like the easier approach and will look nice when blasted and painted. Car is for street use so I am not looking for Big HP. Sounds like you had very good luck/performance with your HP manifolds. Good to know as I already have these and not take much to paint - even have gaskets with the rebuild kit. Did you have heat riser hooked up (passenger side)? I am missing spring and weight.

I also see head shields for plugs on some pictures of these manifolds. Did you use those?

Thanks again for your input.

Best regards,

Bryan

When I restored it I put all the plug shields back on and the riser is intact. I have a Edlebrock TM6 still on it with the crossover blocked so the riser is tied open but still functional. I currently have an AVS 800 on it with electric choke. Those manifolds flow better than some give them credit for. The head pipes to muffler are 2.5". I used a repro exhaust from Accurate. I don't race it anymore either so street use is just fine!

Clean and easy service is what I like.
