Stop in for a cup of coffee

Haven't checked in for a couple of days...

Fighting a head cold this week and it's dragging me down... (I know - I said "head"...)

But I haven't missed any work, just taking meds to help relieve the symptoms to get me through the day... Appetite is down, I've lost some weight - I'm down to 247 ---> I had trouble breaking the 260 and 250 plateaus, but I hope that I can keep it off now that the cold has helped curb my appetite and I've lost a few pounds....

More good news - the night plant manager asked me if I wanted to transfer to first shift... My "mentor" there, Gustavo - (I call him Gus...), told me I should take it because it's a good position.... I will most likely be back on 2nd shift eventually if they convert me to direct payroll... I think I have to get three months in to be eligible for direct employment...

Gus also told me not to tell everyone on 2nd because they skipped over a few others that have been there longer than me... They may get a little mad that they were skipped over for the job... The guy that I work with after I'm done with UPS is a good worker also, but may get upset because he's been there longer than me... I feel a little bad about it because he's a good worker also, but I work a little harder than him... Not to say that he slacks off, because he does work hard and keeps busy all shift long, and he gives me good advice and tells me how things go around there. He's saved me from making some mistakes, so I feel bad that he got skipped over for me... However, I have bills to pay and kids to support, so I need to advance as much as I can... My hard work is paying off...

Gus is pretty tight with the management there and has been telling them that I'm a good hard worker and he appreciates my help when we work together... Gus trained me to do the UPS packing and he moved up to full time fork lift driver/loader... We worked well together to get the packing done and ready for pick-up...
