Just FYI, not all beetle long side trim is the same or attaches the same. Early beetles had wide trim and the clips attached to the trim and then poked into holes that have rubber cups inserted first. The clips were metal. The later ('68 and later) had thin narrow trim and plastic clips that you attached to the body and then snapped the trim on to them.
