Had the same annoying noise in my 85 D150 w/318 with the plastic piece of Fram crap from Autozonk, had one come apart at the seam that also made the same noise. Saw your post here about the SMp-V180, bought one for less than $4 shipped. Installed and noise gone. Thanks!
