Damn Thermoquads.

Everybody has their take on carbs , I ve had tq and chevys and q jets , tq and q jet very similar , both run lean and I currently run a q jet on my daily driver (Yes have chevys too) and I converted it to manual choke but don t use it 1/2 the time (only in -5deg.F and under)I just squirt a few shots and it starts then I got to pedal jockey it for 30 seconds and then it ll idle. Sometimes it will stumble and stall , just squirt crank and go...Should be the same for tq holley afb weber bla bla so on and so forth , but to adress the OP's problem , in the tq there is a tranfer tube from the accelerator pump and since he is getting no shot from there and assuming there is gas in the carb(that issue wasn t ever cleared up in previous posts)so perhaps that tube is off or cracked , even though it starts with full choke on if there is no acc pump there will be a stumble on acceleration (or maybe you just like to ease into the throttle to mask your problem, Not me and I love to take bets with the EFI crowd on throttle response)... All to say when you troubleshoot somthing you have to be systematic and not just guess there is fuel in the bowls , check it , mark it as done ok and move on to the next step...
