A53 1969 Barracuda Formula S Convertible!
it's ALWAYS difficult to "value" A-Body mopars because "generally", they are NOT worth as much as "B" body mopars, most Chevys and some Fords. as someone with 4 barracudas, having been obsessed with them for 46 years since high school, i am constantly seeing what i think are "great deals" on "driveable" or "restored" A body cars. i have attached only the most recent "good deal" - that being a very nice "driveable" 69 convertable for "$20k or best offer." i can say one thing that i am 100% sure of about the rusted car featured in this thread - you could NEVER repair, repaint and restore that car for the $20k price the below car is now advertised for.
if your value of the above rusted car is for "parts", based on what i've seen on ebay over the last year, i would say those parts are worth:
OEM ralley steering wheel: $ 300.00
340 motor, unknown condition: $2000.00
8 3/4 rear diff and axle: $ 800.00
bucket seats: $ 400.00
ralley dash: $ 200.00
convertable top assembly: $ 800.00
OEM disc brakes: $ 300.00
auto trans: $ 500.00
hood: $ 250.00
front fenders: $ 400.00
OEM AM/FM radio (if working) $ 400.00
misc. parts (maybe) $ 100.00
total parts value: $6450.00
all the above prices are for parts that i have seen advertised on ebay or other sites.
now, if you wanted to buy the above car and tear it apart and try and sell all the noted parts, you could do that. but i have a garage full of parts, some of which i have NOT been able to sell. so just because you see parts advertised DOES NOT mean the seller actually was able to sell that part! finally, most people don't want to get into the "parts business" unless they have somewhere to store "parts." unless you live on a big enough piece of property where you can "store" a "parts car" away from angry neighbors who don't want a "junk yard" developing beside their property, keeping a parts car is a risky decision.
so there you are. again, i wouldn't give more than $2000k for the above car - if i wanted it - and i don't.
below is that "nice" "pretty cheap" "$20k or best offer" barracuda convertable - "ready to drive."
