Put the screwdriver in the slot that drives the bottom of the distributor shaft. Twist counter clockwise. If it doesnt walk up on its own you have another issue such as the bottom of the shaft being twisted where it goes into the oil pump.



what I understand is he put a new oil punp shaft bushing in and it shrunk when he drove it in and then forced the shaft down in the now under size bushing and now it is jammed in the bushing but I maybe wrong .
