Interesting. I was planning on buying their non-teflon scraper. It's not likely to have the same issue as yours, but based on your customer experience maybe I'll reconsider.
Since I use them, I'd say to buy the Teflon. I'm still having a problem getting what the OP is having issues with. The welds should all be inside the pan rail. And you don't use a gasket.
The Teflon isn't much more, and it's a better scraper. I can go pull my instructions, but I can't post them so it won't do the OP any good.
Kevin Johnson is pretty much a one man show. I've never had a problem with contacting him.
