Front end shakes
A good load of lead weights is a sign, bent wheel or lower quality tire. I saw my share of egg shaped brand new tires back in the day. Fewest in Bridgestone and Michelin.
Older steel wheels could have been bent during their life. Very early on, there wasn't a lot of quality control in weld up steel wheels. It don't take much to check the run out of wheel and tire on the car. If you're bound to what you have for whatever reason, put the 2 worst on the rear.
A coffee talk story... I bought my first set of 4 14" rally wheels from a local parts yard in early 80s. There was at least 25 of LBP in a pile there. I took 4 to the shop where I worked to spin them up on the balancer. The 2 found bent/wobble were taken back and traded for 2 more. Then 1 of those taken back and traded again. Then I later discovered 1 wider than the other 3. Back to trade again.
