I for the life of me cannot figure out why my cars starts shaking around 60 70 mph. I replaced everything in suspension but shocks so I figured rims because I had new tires last year. Replaced them still shakes. Any idea what I am missing

Warped drums or rotors?

A good load of lead weights is a sign, bent wheel or lower quality tire. I saw my share of egg shaped brand new tires back in the day. Fewest in Bridgestone and Michelin.
Older steel wheels could have been bent during their life. Very early on, there wasn't a lot of quality control in weld up steel wheels. It don't take much to check the run out of wheel and tire on the car. If you're bound to what you have for whatever reason, put the 2 worst on the rear.
A coffee talk story... I bought my first set of 4 14" rally wheels from a local parts yard in early 80s. There was at least 25 of LBP in a pile there. I took 4 to the shop where I worked to spin them up on the balancer. The 2 found bent/wobble were taken back and traded for 2 more. Then 1 of those taken back and traded again. Then I later discovered 1 wider than the other 3. Back to trade again.

It could be shocks, if they are bad, the tire(s) could be bouncing like a basketball.

Maybe your driveshaft is out of balance. Check the u-joints for excessive play and signs of any weights thrown off the shaft.

I had a bad tire. Went through the driveshaft balance, had the tires spun balanced, then had them machined trued, shook so hard over 60 that the hood was chipping the paint against the fenders. Could not see a thing physical with the tires. Maybe ?

If the steering wheel is shaking ...I would look at wheel balance, Bent rim, bad idler arm or some suspension woes like bushings.
if you here it and feel it, like when you touch the floor tunnel...driveline issue, trans mount bad. If you have any oil leaks...that will mush out the mount.

New rims and tires doesn't mean a thing if they weren't properly balanced to begin with. And, those stick on weights fall off too. Could have just lost a weight. I would start with the wheels first regardless of their age.

It's not likely to be brakes if it does it when the brakes aren't being applied. Another trick would be to lightly apply the brakes while maintaining the speed the wobble is present. If the wobble goes away, it could be wheel bearings. If it doesn't, it's either the wheels themselves or something deeper in the suspension.

Have you messed with anything in the suspension. U may need an alignment. Wheel bearings are another possibility, are u getting a slight humming noise. Wheel bearing can be deceiving on where the sound is coming from. Does this happen while applying pressure to the brakes or just while driving.

Also make sure there is no mud on the inside of your rim. I've had that happen before. It can definitely cause the shakea

Definitely not rim I just got them and put on this week. Can't be anything worn it's all brand new

That makes sense don't really feel it in steering wheel but front end shakes. Figured one part I didn't replace because they looked newer

Shouldn't be there all new joints and drive shaft is brand new

Ok, so it's all new and nothing shakes? Oh, wait, no, you have a shake.

You can't use "new" to rule out issues. If it's all new and it's all right, nothing shakes. You have a shake, so, something isn't right. It's not unheard of for brand new rims to be out of true. You should see how many ounces of lead the tire shop added to one of my brand new Cragar soft 8's on my truck, with a brand new tire. It was way out, brand new right out of the box.

I seriously doubt it's the shocks. If it were all the time, it could be the shocks. If it were only on bumpy roads, it could be the shocks. But for it to be speed dependent? It's almost always a balance issue. Tires, rims, driveshaft, something. Speed dependent shakes are almost always wheel or alignment issues.

Yeah was shaking with old rims too. Can't be rims because it did it with old set to. There was barly any weights on front rims. Just had alignment to. Not sure how driveshaft would cause front to shake

Well, I drove for a company out of Okemos, and the vehicle I drove would do the same thing, 60 to 65 it would vibrate. It would go through a set of steer tires in about 20K miles. I finally convinced the mechanic to install new front shocks. Vibration went away and I got 80K out of the set of new tires that went on at the same time.

I'm not saying that's what it is, but, it IS a very good possibility.

Probably the motor mount/s bad and dampener slipped and now its slightly out if balance...lol Like who knows....or maybe got mud or a rocks in the rotor vents that throws off balance.

what they call trueing the front rubber mounted on the rims , they lathe the tire round , works for my shaking noise . fenders through to the steering wheel , all gone . they where t/a radials . smooths pair i ever ran at speed .

Had this done once. Never again. If tires are out of round change the tires, because when they are trued, there is nothing left LOL

So, are these the same tires you put on last year, just swapped to new rims? Shocks could be it. Shake is usually in the wheel or tire, or suspension. Driveline usually is a drone sound. I had a tire go bad. Couldn't tell from the outside, or inside. But looking straight at the tread from the front, amd you could see it.

Yeah same tires. I ordered new shocks we will see. Going to take fronts back to tire store for force balance
