Windshield Molding Clips
Many years ago, first 68 B'cuda notchback I robbed gaskets and trim from had the very short clips at every position around both front and rear ( although too rusty to reuse ). All I could find for assembly on my 67 were taller, more common, generic. I found that the taller would have worked good enough everywhere except the a-pillar post. A sizeable gap there could generate a wind noise/whistle. I wasn't satisfied with "close enough" at that rear window either.
After I finally did get my hands on a few new Chrysler correct short clips, that little bright idea light came on. I took the taller clips to the bench grinder and trimmed all of them to about the same height. Less than 1/8 removed, 3/32 maybe. End finish was very nice. Trim sat like a continuation of the body sheet metal line.
So... just hold the clips in various places. If it stands taller than the painted exposed body, its too tall.
