Cam bearings are not really around. Don't people replace them in any kind of rebuild?

That was one of the main things missed on a previous rebuild of my motor. Crank bearings were perfect and babbitt
was falling off the cam bearing. Got a set off ebag that was obviously sitting on someones shelf for a very long time.
