We shied away from Pertronix distributors for many years because of this issue also, when we figured out how to limit the timing by machining the slot we built tooling and wrote programs on the CnC for the different amount of mechanical timing we wanted and have setup 1000's since for our own customers and units sent into us by others. It just takes time and ingenuity to figure this stuff out. Since we started distributing Pertronix we have never sold an out of the box unit, we modify all of them before they ever leave here. They are a very good unit right out of the box but after we're done with them they are an Excellent Choice.
