Painted the Duster with Dupli-Color

the more i look, the more impressed i am with this, i have seem the rustoleum jobs, and some were surprisingly not bad, but this looks damn good IMHO! esp. for the coin!

Looks awesome to me and I admire that you had the determination to paint it yourself. You should be proud!

2.4,how is this paint job, holding up? I'm curious.

It's holding up surprisingly well for what it is. Has yet to fade, and still cleans well.

72dart, and plum crazy dart. Thanks for the compliments!:burnout:

I've got an '88 Gran Fury cop car I bought from the San Juan County Sheriff's office last September for a whopping $330. Runs and drives, but the paint was that silver that biodegraded. Donated the interior to the Seattle Metropolitan Police Museum for the resto of an old SPD unit and the exterior trim to the Bellevue PD for their '88 GF resto...there is a race series called "The 24 Hours of LeMons" and this car is the perfect candidate for a track car. Why is this relavent? 'Cause I'd like to straight it out enough and paint it. If it doesn't get munched, I'll keep using it for certain events and register it for the street. Tags are $150 one time and insurance is about $165 through Haggerty for the year
A decent paint job would be fun practice and make it less of a 'problem' with my neighborhood and the wife!

Thanks for the update ! Now that ive seen this maybe a color change for ruby ! Hmmmm :D

Excellent job, I didn't see any dings or dents but now that it looks this good you might want to go back and repair them and touch it up. The paint you used is a lacquer ready to spray. If you take care of it, it will last a long time. A lot of cars in the days when our Mopars were built used lacquer, like some of the 60's GM cars and some others. I think Chrysler used enamel. Maybe go back and fix the spots you can see now, touch it up and clear coat it. You can then cut and buff and have a killer paint job. Again it looks great and I love the color combo.

Accually there are alot of dents and dings in the car. I elected to make the paint a satin instead of going gloss just to hide it ll for now. Thanks for the compliments.

Abodybomber: You are wlecome.

Your car looks like one of the "Ratty Muscle car" drag strip ,parcipitants...Sweet ride...., if so.
