Stop in for a cup of coffee

the closest I have ever come to being a victim was when I was working at a "ma & pa" convenience store and these three kids came in acting all weird and suspicious.. I knew something was up (I just figured they were going to steal stuff) so I asked them all if I could help them. One of them starts toward me and says "yea man, this is a hold up, give us all the money!" -- I looked that punk square in the eye and told him that **** wasn't funny and that they had about 10 seconds to get the F out of the store before I took their stupid prank to the next level.. they ALL just about fell over themselves apologizing and begging me not to call the cops - they were so scared I thought they were going to piss in their pants!! ----- best part - I had no weapon.. maybe a nearby baseball bat, but that was it.. idiots.
I had a similar sort of thing back when I used to run the night shift for a friend of mine that owned a Sunoco service station with a small convenience store. One night around 10 pm, a punk in his early 20s came in when the place was empty and pulled out a knife and told me to give him the money. I just stared at him and then said, "You're an idiot bringing a knife to a gun fight." He sizes me up and says "Man, you ain't got no gun."

I kept staring at him and said, "You're right, I don't...but he does." motioning over his shoulder. Just opening up to the front door was a PA State Trooper who had pulled in just as the punk walked through the front door and was watching the whole thing.

The kid dropped the knife and the cop cuffed him and stuffed him his cruiser. When the cop came back in, he said "Man you were cool as a cucumber. Weren't you worried he might rush you with the knife?". I said "Nah, there's a spray can of starter fluid and a lighter sitting on the counter, he never would have gotten close to me".

The cop walked out the door laughing.
