Don't get me started...:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead: I had a Lister Petter, 3 cyl Diesel Generator, last week in Africa, that would not start. I was told that it ran a few weeks ago. Crank, no start. Now , I am not much of a diesel tech, but I found a few things out. Changed the fuel filter and bleed off all the air, still no start. The battery was not strong enough to pull in the fuel start solenoid. So I pulled the battery and installed a know good one. Still no start. Working with limited , or NO TOOLS all the time. Mind you, it is 104 deg and HUMID !!! The fuel smelled like F'n crap. I suspected the lift pump. So I pulled it and disassembled it to check the bellows. All ok. Reinstall lift pump. Bleed air. No Start. This diesel has three fuel pumps for the injectors that are driven by the camshaft, then sent over to the other side to the fuel injectors. Finally, I found a box of new parts in one of the storage rooms. NOBODY KNEW IT WAS THERE !!!. Now I'm thinking , still fuel issue. Sooo. I found 6 new injector nozzles in the box. Mind you, you first have to get them out, never done before. Have to disassemble each one, with hardly ANY TOOLS !!. Springs and shims are flying everywhere. Got em all apart and cleaned the housings and install 3 new injector nozzles . Reassemble all. Bleed off all air. Hey Guess What ? It runs... Haulifrickin Lugha... Spent the better part of three days getting it goin, but I did it.
