Stop in for a cup of coffee

I was running maintenance for two cold storage plants -ammonia refrigeration. If things were not done right and you got a leak, people can die. On paper the company was doing the right things and certainly wanted it all done. But there was no way to get it done with the people/resources we had. Every year it was a justification battle to get capex approved and then by second quarter they were giving my budget to other facilities for emergency repairs. Then at the end of the year they'd wonder why the work wasn't done. :wtf: A lot of other managers said F it and just told them what they wanted to hear. But if something happened..."you signed off and said it was all good." :BangHead:

Yep, they do that everywhere, even where I was...
They won't pay for the manpower to do it right, but then pencil whip the paperwork to fudge it, but if something goes wrong, management blames the workers.... :mob:

They don't bother to look at the maintenance sheets and calculate how long it will take to do each job and if there are enough guys scheduled to get that work done... They expect it to magically get done...
We would arrange for weekend work, then at the last minute they would do budget cuts and cancel our manpower that we needed to get things done... Then ask us why it didn't get done???

Yeah, industry doesn't need regulation, they will take care of everything on their own... Trust us....
