I don't know about California, but I bought the one for my 68 barracuda from Deep Ellum Auto Glass . I paid 125.00 for it at a swap meet in Conroe Tx. But he does ship and he is reasonable. His name is Robert Merrill and his office number is 214-712-0000 web address is www.deepellumautoglass.com You could check with him and get a price.

Summit Racing is where I got my windshield for the 67 fastback. free shipping, well, 8 bucks.
It should be the same windshield

Sorry, I just checked Summit, $ 207 for the windshield. They are now charging 99 bucks for delivery. I got mine 2 years ago for 199 bucks + 8 bucks ship

Did you try any of your local auto glass shops?
Exactly. I needed a new windshield in my Dakota. Safelite wanted over $300 installed, and a local body shop that also does auto glass did it for $125 all in. The guy said they got their glass from the same source as Safelite.

I purchased a windshield for my 67 Dart from Kidwell's Glass in Orangevale, 916 961-6917. It was available in 1 day. I picked it up at their location - I didn't have them install it. I also have not yet installed it. Price was around $115 (within the last year). It's XYG brand (DOT 563) which is made in China. It's supposed to be slightly better than other China suppliers.

Another place that was helpful, but I didn't end up buying from (for no particular reason that I can remember) is Dick's in Rancho Cordova, 916 363-6554, Jim was the contact there. Same glass - XYG.

If the source of the glass is an important factor for you then I think it's more of a challenge. I called a lot of places, learned a little about auto glass. Most glass appears to be sourced outside North America, at least for older replacement glass. I talked with the "hot rod" or "restoration" sellers and was not convinced the glass they offered was that much better for 3-5 times the price.

Sorry to highjack, but is the replacement glass the same thickness as original? I know our original glass is thicker than what is on the newer stuff.

Classic industries

I just checked the Classic Industries website and found your windshield listed at $189.99 for either tinted or untinted.
If you need some additional stuff, they're also currently offering up to 20% off for online orders over $249. I checked and you'll save 10% on your windshield.
I don't know what shipping will be from SoCal to your area.

Good luck!

... is the replacement glass the same thickness as original?

No, not for my replacement. The new glass is .205 inch thick. I compared it against a windshield that I got out of a 72 Dart, and it is .275. Thus, a little over 1/16 inch thinner. I would prefer it be closer to the original thickness just assuming the window seals are expecting the original thickness.

I need to correct my original post. I had my notes reversed. It was suggested to me that the XYG brand (DOT 563) was inferior to others. The brand I purchased from a local glass shop was FYG (DOT 459) from China, which is supposed to be better.

FYI, windshields have a DOT number that you can search for on the Web to determine the manufacturer.

. Never mind.
It appears "we" aren't happy with the place/person I posted as a source before.
I get it
