Post your 13 sec combos

55 Dodge. Weighs 4000 lbs.....

Worn out tired 77 motorhome 440 cast crank bottom end with lots of blow by. Street dominator single plane intake...... should really have a dual plane on this thing. holley 750 vac sec. Factory recurved distributor with mopar orange box, factory coil. Engle HE 3844 cam,Intake is .536, 238 duration @ .050. Exhaust is .540, 244 duration @ .050, advanced a few degrees...... way to big for this low compression engine but it sure sounds awesome. Old cragar truck headers, 3,73 track lock 8.8 differential. 27x11.5 et streets.

Last year it ran 14 flat with a slipping transmission, bad converter and the original heads.

This year I rebuilt the trans with a shift kit, put in a fresh 5000 TCI converter (stalls much lower due to the low perf engine) and a set of fresh mildly ported closed chamber big valve heads. The car picked up half a sec in the 1/8. Next weekend I will run it down the 1/4 again and expect mid 13s.

I know.......none of the stuff matches, but it is what I had or could get on a budget. It sounds good, performs respectfully and doesnt overheat.

Hopefully next winter I will build a fresh 451 short block for her.

Well....I just got back from a weekend of drag racing. I managed to make15 1/4 mile passes over three days, all in the 13.4 to 13.5 range. The best was a 13.44 at 99.5 mph with a 60' of 1.8. Not spectacular but certainly respectable for a 4000 pound street car. I went as far as the semifinals before breaking out.

Here is a pic...... battle of the 55's
