Rebuilt unit already leaking. sucks... anybody use one of the Lares factory new pumps for their ride and how about the fitment?? Says it may not look original?? I am not sure I want to buy another refurbished one. They seem to suck?

Is it a Federal pump? I think it took three different re-manufactured ones for me to get one that didn't leak from the housing seal. If it is a Federal, don't stack seals on the cap or it won't vent off excess pressure, causing a leak.

It is a Saginaw pump which I researched to be correct for a 340 motor with or without a/c. Didn't last very long. I wonder if the synthetic fluid I put in the newly remanufactured pump as well as a rebuild Firm Feel gearbox had anything to do with the leak?? I was told synthetic would run fine in the pump?? But who knows....I understand there is one company that actually makes the new pumps and the resovoir, but they are near 200.00. trying to find out if it is worth the money to buy one of those???

Mine is a federal pump, I rebuilt it and still leaks. 'm interested in a solution also.

Just ordered a Jegs pump for $121.00. They also had a Right Stuff pump for $161.00, and the Jegs guy told me that the Jegs one is the same pump without the Right Stuff Decal on it? He also told me they are made in the USA and are tested better than the cheap parts store pumps that sell for $50.00. So we will see what it is when it gets here. Hope it lasts longer.
