Hello Everyone I know You All Have Answered this Question a Hundred Times But This Is My First Mopar I've Recently Bought and when I bought It It Started Right Up

And then?
The suspense is killing me....

The suspense is killing me....
It Started to Sputter And Then Finally Stopped I've Replaced the Following: Distributor Cap And Rotor, Pickup Coil,(found this to be missing rivet at pivot point)Four Connection Rigistor, and Wires/Plugs Coil Is Okay Car Cranks Strong But Won't Continue To Run Wonder If I Missed A Step or Wired it back up Wrong ECU Has Four Pins

Four pin ecu is fine, need to check for power at ignition coil. Somewhere in this forum is a troubleshooting guide, with an ohmmeter and a test light you can find exactly what part is faulty. Price of the tools is cheaper than replacing parts willy-nilly.btw,ignition rarely causes a sputter, but a fuel problem does.

Pull dist cap and see how much up/down movement it has.

Also check that stupid 2 pin connector where the distributor connects, as I have had two cars that had issues because of that plug.
Squeeze the female socket on each end of that plug to make sure they connect.

It does sound like a lack of fuel though.
Does it shoot fuel into the carb when the throttle is pumped?
Is there a spark to ground out of the distributor end of the coil wire?
Or if you put a timing light on the coil wire and crank it does the light flash about every 1/2 second?

Answer these and you'll find your problem.

Thanks Tooljunkie I'll Look That Up When I Get Back I have The Tools Worked for A Company That Made Custom Indoor Spas and Bathtubs and did You Mean the Dist.cap Or the Dist.

The distributor center shaft under the rotor is what he means. (how much up and down play)
Factory distributors are a two piece design, so this could be misleading as some of the play will be the top section moving.

I Have Found Out That The Coil Was The Problem Can Anyone Suggest A Good Replacement Coil I Heard A Coil Of UC-16 Is What I Need And Thank You Trail Beast I Did Change The Connection Coming From The Dist
